Julie Alessio (aka DJ Ruby Sue), Director of Movement Arts Hawaii, has been dancing and deejaying all her life. As a child she started with records of Peter and the Wolf and danced in her living room with her younger brothers. Since 2002, she has been offering conscious and creative dance for all ages in Arizona, New Mexico, Washington, and Minnesota. Her classes have included ecstatic dance with live drumming, ecstatic dance integrating plant medicine, free-form and facilitated dance classes. Her style has been inspired by many teachers including Vinn Marti (SoulMotion), Gabrielle Roth (5Rhythms) and Anne Green Gilbert (BrainDance). She is now pleased to be offering conscious dance on the Big Island of Hawaii in Waimea, Kapa'au, Honoka'a and Hilo.
